PAAVILA (Henry) David - Passed away close to his cherished Vancouver, home for many of his early and later years. His much loved wife Murdina (McKay) was by his side until the end. His passing is mourned by his wife of almost 60 years, his daughter Ellen Paavila (son-in-law Stuart, grandson Grayson Scantlebury), son Jim Paavila (long time partner Louise), daughter Karen Paavila (son-in-law Jaro, grandson Stephen Pristupa), also his brother Jack Paavila (sister-in-law Karen, nephew David, niece Nancy), sister Elma (deceased) (brother-in - law Forbes deceased, nephew Richard, niece Barbara Barrett) and relatives in Finland, also his wife's family, niece Jane Byers (husband John, sons Nathan, David (deceased), Alan), nephew Ian McKay (wife Carol, son Darryl, daughter Ashley) and many old friends and colleagues in Espanola. David was a brilliant scholar, an Engineering Chemistry honours grad of Queen's University, had a long and distinguished service to the pulp and paper international community, was school board chairman, an amazing chef, and so much more. His mathematician's beautiful mind, his acerbic wit and his love will be missed. He was much loved. Donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Society and the Heart and Stroke Fund In Loving Memory.
