Wilfred Leonard SMITH

SMITH, WILFRED LEONARD - of Corbyville, Ontario, went to be with our Lord on Thursday, January 17th, 2008. Wilfred was born at Marmora, on February 25th, 1929, to the Late Harry and Rosalie (nee Hulsman) Smith. He was the devoted husband of Lillian Audrey (nee Wright) Smith for 56 years. Loving father of Terrance (Brenda ~nee McDonald), of Waterloo; Lorne (Frances ~nee Broekema), of Corbyville; and Martin (Annette ~nee Walker), of Guelph. He was predeceased by one son, Sandford (Sandy), and by an infant daughter Jaclyn Audrey. Wilfred is survived by brothers Donald and William, and by one sister, Isabelle. He was predeceased by brothers George and Ronald, and by sisters Mary and Irene. Wilfred was immensely proud of his eleven grandchildren: Graeme, Heather, Hailey, Alanna and Braedan, of Waterloo; Tyler, Ben, Jordan and Hope, of Guelph; and Ashley and Adam, of Corbyville. Although Wilfred has lost his fight with cancer, his family are most appreciative that nothing can erase the legacy of love and memories that he has left to sustain them during this time of loss. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the STEELE FUNERAL HOME, 30 Moira Street West, Belleville (613-968-2273). A private family service took place at Parkdale Baptist Church on Saturday, January 19, 2008. Memorial Contributions to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family. 10965119
