PEARSOLL - On December 11, 2007, Laura Pearsoll passed away peacefully at Picton Manor Nursing Home, after struggling with failing health for the last 2 - 3 years. She was born December 21, 1926 in Louth Township, Lincoln County to George & Glendora Arnott. Following her father's death in 1935, Laura moved with her mother & sister Mabel to Prince Edward County. She married Ross L. Pearsoll in August of 1947, and together they had Ross Leon Jr., Leah Jean, and Daniel George. Laura was predeceased by her husband, Ross (1976) and her sister Mabel Bailey (1999). Laura loved dancing from the time she was a young lady, and almost every weekend could be found on a dance floor, making many friends along the way. She also loved animals, devoting much of her time and energy to the local PAWS, and taking in numerous animals over the years. She was a member of the United Church and was actively involved in church activities for many years. She loved knitting, canning home preserves and gardening. She was in her 40's before she obtained her driver's licence. Over the last 20 years, she lost a couple of friends with whom she shared her love of dancing and animals - Ernie Thomas and Bob Barrett. In March of 2007, she underwent back surgery to alleviate pain and to try to improve her mobility. In July 2007, she underwent amputation of her lower left leg. Though her last remaining months were a struggle, she always hoped to be able to return to her home and her animals. It was a testament to her strong will. She will be missed by family and friends, and she can now be with all her animals that she loved over the years. 10962626
