PETKOVICH, Walter (Vladimir) - It is with heartfelt sadness that the family announces the passing of a much loved husband, father, grandfather and friend. Walter passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side at the age of 66 years. Beloved husband of Lillian (Semenuk). Loving father of Todd, Jeff (Wendy) and Michael (Candy) Petkovich. Cherished grandfather (Gumpa) of Jaime-Lee, Colten, Jericho, Jenna, Travis, Emily, Mitchell and Quentin. Brother of Zvonko (Katica), Alexander and Peter (Jody). He was predeceased by his parents Cedomir and Stefica. He will be sadly missed by his sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law and nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends. Walter was born January 21, 1941 in former Yugoslavia. He lived there until he was twelve years old. At this point he set out to be with his father in Canada. Walter was a brave boy to fly by himself not knowing a word of English. Landing in Halifax, then by train to Montreal and his final destination Sudbury where he met his father for the first time. In 1962 Walter met his wife of 44 years, Lillian and subsequently moved to Niagara Falls to raise his family and start his company Metro Niagara Painters which he owned and operated from 1963 until his passing. Walter is at the MORSE & SON CHAPEL of the MORGAN FUNERAL HOMES, 5917 Main Street. His family will receive friends on Wednesday and Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Pomen will be conducted at the funeral home on Thursday evening at 8:00. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Friday morning at 10 o'clock. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery.
