Kathleen Bruce May 19, 1935 - April 17, 2004 Peacefully at the Poplar River Elders Lodge Kathleen Bruce passed away on Saturday, April 17, 2004 at the age of 68 years. Kathleen was born at Dauphin River on May 19, 1935, spending her childhood years there. She married, moved to Poplar River where she raised her family, spent some time in Winnipeg, spending her last days at Poplar River. Kathleen enjoyed the company of her friends and loved her bingo. She leaves to cherish her beautiful memory sons Raymond, Jerry, Perreault (Victoria), Ernest (Joslin), Willard and Leslie, daughter Rebekah Brown (Ernest), Yvonne Bruce and Danelda Ramsay, sister Irene Preanteau, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, brother-in-law Daniel Bruce (Annie), sister-in-law Madeline Berens, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her parents Ida and Alex, husband Norman, daughter Bella, brothers David and Ernest and sister Alice Robinson. Prayers and wake services will be held on Sunday, April 18, 2004 at 7:00 p.m. at the Aboriginal Funeral Chapel, 724 Selkirk Avenue at Parr, Winnipeg. Wake service will be held on Monday, April 19, 2004 at the Poplar River Community Church. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 20, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. also at the Poplar River Community Church, Poplar River, Manitoba with Fr. Rheal Forest officiating. Interment to follow at Poplar River Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Ernest Brown Sr., Ezra Bruce, Reynold Bruce, Cameron Fontaine, Perro Bruce and Norman W. Bruce. Special thank you to the staff at Poplar River Elders Lodge for the care and compassion given to Kathleen during her stay there.
