DUNLOP, Laila Irene - It is with great sadness to announce the passing of our loving Mother, Laila Irene Dunlop on Saturday December 29, 2007 in her 77th year due to an unexpected but very courageous battle with Cancer. Predeceased by the Mother Helmi Vuorenmaa, (1992), Son James Vincent Dunlop (1993), Husband Donald Vernon Dunlop (1996). Survived by Daughters Laila Elaine Compton, Julie-Marie Dunlop (Brian), Connie Sue Cronkwright. Grandchildren Ryan Verde-Dunlop (Amanda), William Cronkwright, Derek Cronkwright, Heather Compton. Great Granddaughter, Railyn Sierra Dunlop. Good Friends of Mary Cassidy, Chuck Shepherd. Cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held in January. A heartfelt Thank You goes out to the Nurses on the 4th floor especially Shirley who Mom really liked. Special Thank you goes to the Nurses of the 2nd floor Palliative Oncology Care Unit, especially to Sandra Thank You. A very Special Thank you goes out to Physiotherapist “Paul“ who brightened her day and made her smile. Thank You goes to Emergency Nurse Tom “Cruise“ for inspiring humour. All others know who they are for bringing comfort and support to our Mom & family members during this time. Thank you to the Doctors who really cared about Mom which were Dr. Ashrafi and Dr. Azabi. Mom was employed with the St.Catharines Golf and Country Club for 5 years and was employed with Community Living St.Catharines for 17 years. In Lieu of flowers the family wishes to have donations made to the Palliative Oncology Care Unit at the Niagara Health System (General Site). Online tributes may be left at www.mem.com.
