Doris Irene SAUNDERS

RANSOM, Doris Irene (Saunders) - Of Heritage Village in Vineland, died peacefully at West Lincoln Memorial Hospital in Grimsby on Saturday, January 5, 2008, in her 93rd year. Doris has embarked on her last voyage. She asked everyone not to mourn as she was heading for her next “Port of Call“. Doris was predeceased by her husband Oliver Ransom (1988) and her son Bob Ransom (1995). Doris is survived by her life-long friend Margaret A. Abbott, by her son Douglas, his wife Mary and their children Maureen Ransom and Jay Stock, Steve and Jennifer Ransom, by Bob and Donna Ransom's children, Jim, Christine, John and Yvonne Ransom and Katharine and Jeff Carter. Also survived by her great grandchildren, Michelle, Lorissa, Miranda, Alanna, Ryan, Jason, Peyton and Maclean. Doris leaves behind her loving family and many friends who will remember her quick wit, sense of humour and zest for life. In lieu of flowers, Doris' request was that, if you wish, donations could be made to Niagara Peninsula Conservation Foundation or a charity of your choice. The family will receive friends at the VINELAND CHAPEL of the TALLMAN FUNERAL HOMES, 3277 King St. on Tuesday 2-4 and 7-8:30 pm. Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Wednesday, January 9th at 2 p.m. Cremation will follow. 10951413
