MACKEY, Arthur John - Peacefully, after a courageous battle with cancer, at Grey Bruce Health Services in Meaford on Saturday, January 5, 2008. Art Mackey of Thornbury at the age of 78. Beloved husband of Arlene (née Foster) Mackey. Cherished father of Carol (Jim) Record of Owen Sound and Charlene (Stan) Wilson of Thornbury. Predeceased by his son Brad Mackey in 2004. Sadly missed Papa of Brady Record, Catrina, Reid and Matthew Wilson, Melissa, Bruce and Travis Mackey. Brother of Bob (Janet) Mackey of Meaford. Art will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Family will receive friends at the FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME, THE VALLEY CHAPEL, in Thornbury on Monday from 2 until 4 and 7 until 9 p.m. Brethren of the Beaver Lodge Masonic Lodge #234 AF & AM will gather for a memorial service at the funeral home on Monday evening at 6:30 p.m. Funeral services, officiated by Reverend Dr. Robert Buchanan, will be conducted at St. Paul's Presbyterian Church in Thornbury on Tuesday January 8th at 11 a.m. A private family service of committal and interment will follow at Thornbury- Clarksburg Union Cemetery.
