Larry CHARTIER

Larry Joseph Chartier July 18, 1949 - April 19, 2004 Peacefully, on Monday, April 19, 2004 at the Thompson General Hospital, with his family and friends at his side Mr. Larry Joseph Chartier, aged 54 years of Thompson. Wake services will be held on Wednesday night April 21, 2004 at the St. Lawrence Hall, 114 Cree road starting at 7:00 pm. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, April 22, 2004 at 11:00 am in the St. Lawrence R.C. Church, 114 Cree with Father Swami Devaprasad officiating. Interment to follow in the Thompson Cemetery. Larry was born in The Pas, Manitoba on July 18, 1949 and grew up in Thicket Portage with his grandparents Elzear and Sarah Jane Chartier. He has resided in Thompson for the past 20 years. He was employed as a heavy equipment operator. Larry was a very happy go lucky man - he was always going the extra mile to make his family and friends laugh and bring a smile to a sad face. He had a great deal of respect for the elders of all communities and worked and held varies positions with the Manitoba Métis Federation over 30 years. Some of his favorite past times were playing baseball, hunting and fishing. He leaves to mourn his passing his mother Joan M. Chartier, brothers and sisters: Terry (Mary) Apetagon, Kelly (Giselle) McKenzie, Donnie (Marlene) McKenzie, Karen Turner, Victor Apetagon, Marlene McKenzie, Robert (Monica) Chartier, Elsie (Darren) Bignell, Allan George (Georgina) McKenzie and Kathy (Joe) Apetagon. Plus numerous relatives and friends. Larry was predeceased by his grandparents Elzear and Sarah Jane Chartier and ten sisters.
