CHASTNEY, Ed - Suddenly at his home in Smithville on Saturday, January 12, 2008, Edwin James Chastney in his 65th year. Beloved husband of Jennifer Fester- Chastney. Loving father of MacKenzie, Griffyn and Braeden. Loving son of Pauline and the late Joe (James) Chastney, and son-in-law of Joan and the late Glenn Fester. Dear brother-in-law of Ingie MacKinnon. Also predeceased by his sister Eleanor MacKinnon. Forever remembered by his best friend Rob England, and his nieces and nephews. Ed was the owner and operator of Chastney Haulage, and a long- time member of IUOE #793, and Maple Leaf Gun Club. Friends may call at MERRITT FUNERAL HOME, 287 Station Street in Smithville on Friday, January 18 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held at the Smithville Christian Reformed Church (6522 Smithville Road) on Saturday, January 19, 2008 with visitation at 11:30 am and the service at 1 pm. Cremation will follow.
