Mrs. Vera Hetty May Burns (née Hunt) December 01, 1923 - April 18, 2004 Burns, Vera Hetty May 80 years. Peacefully at home on Sunday, April 18, 2004. Beloved and dedicated wife of Reginald James in their 60th year of marriage. Loving mother of her girls, Barbara and husband Bill Jackson, of Windsor; Vivienne Côté, of Sault Ste. Marie, Ont.(the late Matt Lehtimaki and Jacques Côté); and Gillian Jens and husband Chris, of Detroit, Mich. Dearest Nana to Lori (James) Cruickshank, David (Shelee)Jackson, Steven(Jennifer)Jackson, Mark(Peggy)Lehtimaki, Jenny (John) Kell, and Joel(Amber)Kell. Loving great-grandmother 'Granan' of Chanceler, Rileigh, Reggie, Dashel, Jade, Nicholas and Amelia. Dearest sister to Thomas (Vera)Hunt, Christina Norton, Robert(Sally)Hunt, all of England. Loving aunt to many nieces and nephews in England, U.S.A., New Zealand, and Australia. Dear friend of Pam Black and Mary Jones. Vera served in the W.A.F.s in WWII, had emigrated to Canada in 1957 with her family. She was a lifetime member of the Candian Anglo Club, an active member of St. Mark's by the Lake Anglican Church and was a former choir member and a 'Holy Roller'. Visiting Wednesday, from 2:00 to 5:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. A Service of Light will take place on Wednesday at 8:30 p.m. at The Marcotte Funeral Home and Chapel, 12105 Tecumseh Rd., Tecumseh (735-2830). Visiting continues on Thursday, April 22nd, after 10:00 a.m. at St. Mark's by the Lake Anglican Church (St. Clair Beach) until the time of the Funeral Liturgy and Requiem Mass at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Kevin George will be the celebrant. Cremation to follow with interment in Enland. As your expression of sympathy, a donation to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Parkinson's Society would be appreciated. A tree will be planted in memory of Vera Burns in the Marcotte Heritage Forest. A dedication service will be held on September 26, 2004. All are welcome.
