BASTIEN, Mary (nee Hartman). (February 11, 1924 - December 27, 2007). Mary passed away peacefully at The Brant Centre, Burlington, Ontario, in her eighty-fourth year after a valiant struggle following an injury in June 2004. Mary will be sadly missed by Richard, her husband of sixty years, her children, William, Robert and Mary Ann, their partners, and her grandchildren Gary and Grace. Mary formed many strong friendships in her life. Joyce Scully and the late Mary Killiany have been pillars of support. Mary will be missed by her many friends and family members who all appreciated her strong intellect, wit, and passion for life. A church service will be held in Burlington, Ontario, at a time to be announced. Mary will be laid to rest in Montreal in the coming spring, with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Joseph Brant Memorial Hospital, Burlington, Ontario, or to another charity of choice. Published in the Montreal Gazette from 1/4/2008 - 1/5/2008
