Mrs. Mary Catherine Peace (née McKenzie) March 11, 1924 - April 23, 2004 Peacefully on Friday, April 23, 2004, at McMaster Medical Centre, devoted wife of Gordon. Catharine was the daughter of the late Archibald and Lillian MacKenzie. Predeceased by her brother Hugh. Mom will be missed by Daniel (Deborah), Michael (fiancee Judy), Jane Moore (Christopher) and Margaret Williams (Edward). Catharine was the proud grandmother of Thomas, Susannah, Claire, David (Susan), Steven (Caroline), Matthew, Kathleen. Nicholas and Jake and adoring great-grandmother of Sarah and Elizabeth. She was a sister-in-Iaw to Irene and Alec Alexander and sister-in-heart to Jean Ward. Catharine was a charter member of St. Andrew’s United Church and active for many years in the Girl Guides. She leaves behind many wonderful friends. including the girls from the club, especially Arlie Hobson and her new friends at Bertram Place. Many thanks to Dr. H. Witt-Sullivan, Dr. C. Mielke, Dr. C. Ghent and the many health care workers who enriched Mom's life. A special thanks to Dr. Christopher Patterson for his care and support. The family will receive friends at DODSWORTH & BROWN Funeral Home, ANCASTER CHAPEL, 378 Wilson Street East on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service from St. Andrew's United Church, 479 Upper Paradise Road South (at Mohawk Road West) on Monday, April 26, 2004, at 2 p.m. with interment Mount Hamilton Cemetery. Memorial donations to St. Andrew's United Church or St. Peter's Hospital (Palliative Care Unit) would be appreciated by the family.
