Mrs. Jean Roberta Britton BRITTON – Jean Roberta It is with great sorrow that we say goodbye to a wonderful mother, grandmother and friend. Jean passed away on April 21, 2004 at the Royal Jubilee Hospice after a courageous battle with cancer. Mom faced her death as she lived her life, with dignity, courage, laughter and love. She was a warm woman who loved to laugh, enjoyed spirited discussions and treasured her little dog, Lucky. Predeceased by her loving husband Archie in 1990. Survived by her children, Beverly Wilkinson (John), Jim Britton (Jo Anne), and Barb Britton (Elaine); four grandchildren, Becky (Joel), Stuart, Amy and Jeff who gave her pride, joy and they will miss her dearly. She and Arch lived in Fort Smith, NWT for five years, and treasured their years in the north. Born in Melfort, Saskatchewan, and lived many years in Red Deer, Alta before moving to Fort Smith, NWT. She and Arch treasured their time in the north and enjoyed many subsequent visits. They retired to the west coast and spent many years on Pender Island and travelling through Mexico. Memorial service will be held at the Sands Funeral Chapel, 1803 Quadra Street, Victoria, B.C. on Saturday, April 24, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. followed by a reception in the Sands Arbor Reception Centre. Cremation entrusted to Hatley Memorial Gardens, Colwood, B.C. Flowers are gratefully declined, if friends so wish donations may be made in Jean’s memory to the Canadian Cancer Society, 750 Hillside Avenue, Victoria, B.C. V8T 1Z4.
