George Gilbert Porter After a short but courageous battle with cancer, George passed away on Friday, April 23, 2004 at the Grace Hospital at the age of 77. George was predeceased by his wife Mollie in 1994. His memory will be forever cherished by his children, Deb, Ron, and Jane; grandchildren, Melissa, Amanda, Ashley, Ryan and Molly; sister Helen (Dennis) Smith and special friend Laura Scott. Dad had a special love for cars and enjoyed a career in the automobile industry. Dad was an active member of The Army and Navy and Airforce Veterans Hall # 283. He enjoyed many gambling junkets as well as bowling, bridge, darts and he will also be remembered by his early morning coffee group. George will be dearly missed by his family and numerous friends and Sebastian. The family would like to thank Dr. Lee and the Staff of the 4 South Grace Hospital for their care and compassion. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society 193 Sherbrook Street, Winnipeg, MB R3C 2B7 or a charity of your choice.
