MILLER, Edward 2008-01-02 Mr. Edward Miller passed away unexpectedly on Monday, December 31, 2007 at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre. He was born on August 12, 1925 in St. Clements, Manitoba. Ed was a World War II veteran who served as a member of the First Canadian Dragoons Armored Regiment. After the war, he volunteered with NATO and was stationed in Holland. Ed earned his living as a diesel mechanic and spent his spare time tinkering with motors, gardening and camping at Sauble Beach with his family, whom he was very proud of. Ed leaves to cherish his memory his son Peter (Carla) Miller; grandson John (Melissa) Miller; daughters Debi Gillen (Clarke), Donna (Ken) Wright; daughter-in-law Halyna Miller; grandchildren Amanda Harris, Sheri Fournier, Gary Miller, Erin Miller, Leah Miller, Peter John Miller, Wayne Gillen, Angela Vokes, Chad Gillen, Tara Childs, Lucas Miller, Melody Grey and eleven great grandchildren. Also survived by special friends Neil and Tammy, Sharon and Ed, Bonnie and family as well as Zoie, his furry friend. Predeceased by his wife Edythe, sons Ron and Kip and daughter Ingrid. A memorial service for Mr. Miller will be held on Friday, January 4, 2008 at Jenkens Funeral Home at 3:00 p.m. with Richard Sherlock officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service time starting at 2:00 p.m. Ed (Papa) will be sadly missed by all who knew him and enjoyed his wit and humour.
