ROSSETTI, Frank 2008-01-09 With his family by his side and a hockey game on TV, Mr. Frank Rossetti passed away at Pinewood Court on Tuesday January 8, 2007 after a long and hard battle with Huntington Disease. Frank was born December 4, 1951 in Fort William to Rocco and Nora Rossetti; whom both passed away when Frank was very young. He was lovingly raised by his brother Carlo, wife May and her parents John and Nellie Andrews. Frank attended St. Ann Elementary School, Westgate CVI and graduated from Confederation College in 1973 with a diploma in Audio Visual Technician Program. In 1979 he became a Certified Engineering Technician. As part of the College Work Placement Program, Frank worked at the Lakehead District Catholic School Board and upon graduation remained with the Board as A.V. Technician until ill health caused him to retire in 1993. In 1974 he married Cheryl (Massaro) and together they had a beautiful daughter Jessica Nicole. Frank was a multi-talented man. He spent summers in Oba with his parents, where he learnt to enjoy the great outdoors. As a teenager he was the drummer in the band "Mixed Breed". After marriage he renovated the family home, worked on his "dune buggy", and many a television in Thunder Bay were repaired by him. The most important part of Frank’s life was his family. He loved spending time outdoors hiking, ski-dooing, camping or dune buggy riding with Jessica. He was a loving person with a smile that lit up a room. Frank fought a long and courageous battle with Huntington’s Disease for 18 years. He never gave up and shared a sense of humour that gave his family strength through a very hard time. Frank was predeceased by his birth parents Nora (Mastrodomenico) and Rocco Rossetti, foster parents John and Nellie Andrews, brothers Henry and Art, sisters Antoinette, Mary and Rita and nephew Daniel Andrews. He is survived by his wife Cheryl, daughter Jessica Nicole (Jason); brother Carlo and sister-in-law May, niece Lisa and great nieces Lauryn and Marissa; brother John, niece Linda, nephew Norman; sister Ann (Lena) Hunter; nephew Lynden Andrews (Diane), niece Laura Turner; aunt Josephine Coran and aunt Mary Daniels; father and mother in law John (Bunny) and Maxine Massaro; brother-in-law John, nephew Brent and Tyler Massaro; close friend Tyler Hogan, and numerous other friends and relatives. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 12, 2008 when family and friends will gather for the Funeral Mass in St. Agnes’ Church at 10:00 a.m. celebrated by Rev. Allan Savage. Interment will follow at St. Patrick’s Cemetery. If friends desire, memorials to the Huntington Society of Canada would be appreciated. A tree will be planted in memory of Frank Rossetti in the Blake Funeral Chapel Memorial Grove. Annual dedication service Sunday, June 28, 2009.
