MARCON, Marianne 2008-01-18 Mrs. Marianne Josephine Marcon, age 78 years, a resident of Thunder Bay, died peacefully in Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre, on Wednesday, January 16, 2008, with her family by her side. Born in Port Arthur on August 8, 1929, she was a lifelong resident of the city. Mary attended St. Andrew‘s and Port Arthur Technical Schools. Upon graduation she started work at the CIBC. On September 12, 1953, she married Leno Marcon in St. Andrew‘s Church, then moved to Fort William where they spent 54 wonderful years together. Marianne was a member of the Croation Home Society and St. Patrick‘s Cathedral and Catholic Womens League. She enjoyed gardening, reading, music and family gatherings. Mary is survived by her husband Leno, sons David and wife Terry, Ed and partner Jodie LaRose, sister Bernice Morris and sister-in-law Lucy Bortolussi. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives. She was predeceased by her parents Maria and Frank Kauzlaric, infant son Baby Marcon, brother Bill Kauzlaric and niece Colleen Kauzlaric. Mary was a devoted daughter, mother and wife who looked after her family faithfully and without complaint. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 22, 2008 when family and friends will gather for the Funeral Mass in St. Patrick’s Cathedral at 11:00 am celebrated by Rev. Msgr. P.M. Stilla V.G. Interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery. Vigil prayers will be offered on Monday, evening at 7:00 pm in the Blake Funeral Chapel. If friends desire, memorials to the Alzheimer’s Society of Thunder Bay & the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario would be appreciated. A tree will be planted in memory of Marianne Marcon in the Blake Funeral Chapel Memorial Grove. Annual dedication service Sunday, June 28, 2009.
