BAKER, JAMES R. - James R. Baker, 86, died peacefully January 14th, 2008 while visiting the home of his son, John C. Baker, in Hartland, Maine. He was born on May 22nd 1921 in Amherst, Nova Scotia, son of Gesner R. and Hazel M. (Barber) Baker. He was a graduate of Mount Allison University / Nova Scotia Tech and spent his working years as a civil engineer with the Government of Canada throughout the Atlantic Provinces, Ottawa and the Caribbean. He is survived by two sons, James D. Baker and John C. Baker, M.D; daughter, Elizabeth A. Doucette; son-in-law Des Doucette; daughters-in-law, Gail Baker and Gretchen Gehrke; brother-in-law, Cedric Ritchie; sisters-in-law, Barbara Ritchie and Ruth Ritchie, two nieces, Heather Walton and Kim Persky, 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his spouse Helen Ritchie Baker. A memorial service will be conducted at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the charity of the donor's choice. January 15, 2008
