Mr. Sydney "Syd" Douglas Young September 13, 1909 - April 20, 2004 YOUNG, Sydney Douglas. Passed away April 20, 2004 at the Cowichan Lodge. Born September 13, 1909 in Vancouver, BC Age 94 years. Son of Richard Augustus and Margaret May (nee Nixon) Young. Predeceased by his wife Eva, son Harry, grandson Terry, brother Harry and sister Eileen. Survived by his children; Shirley Hughes, Steve, Rob, Loretta Kasper, Stan, and Lois, sisters; Doreen Evans, Kathleen Bennett, Laura (Tootsie) Pattison, Bill Dingee, many granchildren and great grandchildren. Syd served overseas in the Canadian Army from 1943-1949. A Memorial Service will be held at Sands Funeral Chapel, 187 Trunk Road, Duncan, BC on Saturday, April 24, 2004 at 11:00 AM. Flowers are gratefully declined. Donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
