PLANTE, Laurette (nee Valcourt) - 1920- 2008 - It is with deepest sorrow that the family announces the passing of their mother and grandmother, Laurette Emelda, peacefully at her home surrounded by loved ones on January 14, 2008 at the age of 87 years old. Predeceased by her husband Camille on Oct. 2. 1993, as well as her parents Napoleon and Odiana (nee Charron) Valcourt. As a longtime cashier, Laurette served the Timmins community at the family's business (Valcourt's Red and White Store). She leaves to cherish her memories, her loving and caring children Louise Plante and her dear son Jean-Marc (Anita) Plante. As well as her most precious grandchildren Jacob and Katrine Plante and their mother Diane (Marc Michaud) also her step-grandson Jesse Austin. She will sadly be missed by her many nieces, nephews, family, friends and her special little pebbles. Many special thanks to those who provided special care and attention, including nephew Richard Valcourt (Diane), great niece Kim Valcourt-Syvret (Lindsay), niece Beatrice Dumont, Andre Lemieux, Mark Toffanello, and all the staff from Bayshore and Red Cross. Respecting her wishes, there will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place. Arrangements entrusted to the MIRON-WILSON FUNERAL HOME. A memorial mass commemorating her life will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday January 17, 2008 from Notre Dame de la Paix Church with Father Alexis O'Lenga officiating. Family will receive friends at the church on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Donations to the Heart & Stroke Society would be a beautiful tribute to our Mom. As Angels gather her gently in their arms, and bring her home to you, dear God please let Mom know that we love her and will miss her forever. We give her back to you knowing she is safe in your loving arms. Cherish her as we have. Let her rejoice in the warm wel coming embrace of her family members already in your Heavenly home, until the day when we all meet again.
