WILSON, Marion (nee Jackson) - It is with extreme sorrow that the family announces her peaceful death surrounded by her family after a brief, but courageous battle with cancer at the Timmins and District Hospital on Wednesday, January 16, 2008 at age 73 years. Beloved wife of John P. Wilson of Timmins and dearest mother of Maureen Swain (husband Tim), Peter (wife Joanne), Jim (wife Cindy), Nancy Legault (husband Luc) and Michael (wife Tina) all of Timmins. Devoted and loving grandmother of Jeffrey Swain (wife Shawna), James Swain, Scott Swain, Lindsay and Christopher Wilson, Jenna Wilson, (late Brent Scott), Zach Legault, Mikey, Ryan and Haley Wilson. Proud great- grandmother of Sophie Swain. Dear sister of Kathleen “Kay“ Miller (husband Mike) of Dundas and aunt of Michele Curtis (Ken), Ted, Jeffrey and Michael Miller all of Dundas. Marion was born and raised in Hamilton, ON and came to Timmins in 1955, one year after marrying John in Hamilton. She was a devoted wife, mother and mother-in-law to her 5 children and their spouses. Marion lived her life to the fullest and was best known for her compassion and empathy to everyone. She touched the lives of everyone she ever met and had a tremendous sense of community. She had many friends and loved them dearly. Marion was also very active in the city having been the past president of the Kinette Club, past chairman of the Association for the Developmentally Handicapped and a past board member of St. Mary's General Hospital as well as being very active with the Church of the Nativity for many years and more recently with the bereavement committee of St. Anthony's Parish. Funeral mass will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, January 19, 2008 from St. Anthony's Cathedral. Interment Timmins Memorial Cemetery. Remembrance donations to the House of Kin would be greatly appreciated by the family. The family will receive friends on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. from the MIRON- WILSON FUNERAL HOME.
