HIGGINS, Marilyn Mabel - Peacefully at Fairmount Home with her family by her side on Saturday, January 18th, 2008 in her 78th year. Beloved wife of 49 years to the late Russell Higgins. Loving mother of Stacey Murphy of Kingston and Corey and her husband Dr. Tom Woods of Calgary. Cherished Nanny of Alix, Hayden, Darach, Grant, Brett and Chelsea. Predeceased by her brothers and sisters, Irving, Howard, Florence and Mary Jesse Claire. Marilyn was born in Verdun, Quebec on July 29, 1930 and married her high school sweetheart Russell Higgins on June 16, 1956. Marilyn was an avid baker, gardener, bridge player and most of all a devoted mother and grandmother. Marilyn was a life time employee of Bell Canada in Montreal and Toronto, retiring in 1990 to spend time with her grandchildren in the home that she and her husband built together. Marilyn will be remembered for her heart of gold, generosity and incredible sense of humour. Friends will be received at the TOWNSHIP CHAPEL of the GORDON F. TOMPKINS FUNERAL HOMES 435 Davis Drive, (Waterloo Village) on Thursday evening between the hours of 7 to 9. In accordance with Marilyn's wishes there will be no Funeral Service.
