GARDINER, Alfred Marshall - Alfie was born September 28, 1910, passed away on January 19, 2008 in his 98th year. Retired from the Kingston Branch of Bell Canada in 1970. He was predeceased by his first wife Marian (Phillips) and his second Bettine (Thomson nee Wilkins). Two very loving and happy marriages. Also predeceased by his son John (Alex) and daughter Gail. Survived by sister Glady (Don) and son Julian of B.C., daughters Susan, Mary, Margo and sons John and Jim all of Ottawa. He leaves behind nine grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. He will be sadly missed by the Phillips family, Bromey family and his nieces Joan and Marilyn. Alfie was noted for his quick wit and his dry sense of humour. He could fix almost anything. He loved to say how he was blessed with a loving family, good friends and neighbours, good health and enough to keep his independence. He was a treasure to us all and we are so thankful to have had him in our lives. We would like to thank the staff at the Kingston General Hospital Kidd 4 & 6 and Connell 10 for their incredible care and kindness given to Alfie during his time in hospital. A memorial service will be held in Ottawa in the spring. 10968680
