NEWMAN, Jessie “Catherine“ (Lester) - age 91, of Sarnia, formerly of Corunna, passed away on Saturday January 19, 2007 at Vision Nursing Home, Sarnia. Beloved wife of the late Lyle Newman (1972). Predeceased by her parents John and Eliza (Hayward) Lester. Dear sister of Harvey (late Jean 2005) Lester of Sarnia, Late Robert (1981) and Verna Lester of Sarnia. Late Charles (1981) and Della (2004) Lester, Late Lyle (1942) Lester. Dear sister- in-law of late Lee and George Newman, (late Robert) and Doris Newman of Brigden, (late Donald) and Ona Campbell of Brigden, Dean and Ilene Newman of Brigden, Jean and Ross Smith of Minnesota. Survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Catherine was married to Lyle Newman on November 13, 1948 at the Calvary United Church Manse. She was a member there until she moved to Thompson Gardens, Corunna where she lived for 25 years and was also a member of Corunna United Church. She worked as a nursing aide for many years at the former Twilight Haven Nursing Home in Petrolia. The Funeral Service for Catherine has taken place at STEADMAN BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME BRIGDEN on Monday January 21, 2008 at 1:00 pm. Angela Macdonald officiating. Pall Bearers were Bruce, Ben and Gail Lester, Kayla and Brooke Helps, Gary Newman. Flower Bearer was Daniel Newman. Interment Bear Creek Cemetery.
