Merle SMITH

Merle Smith Merle passed away and was picked up by the angels on Tuesday, January 22, 2008 in Kelowna, BC at the age of 76. Merle lived most of his adult life in Moncton, only having moved to Kelowna in 1997. During his years in Moncton he worked for General Motors, Apex (John Deere and Kenworth dealerships) and Allstate as well as being very involved in the Moncton Wesleyan Church. He was a wonderful husband and father and adored his grandchildren. Merle touched many lives during his lifetime. His love and genuine concern for people made him a very special friend and mentor and he will be greatly missed by all. Merle is survived by his loving wife, Annabel; his daughter, Lou-Anne (Blake) Caldwell and grandchildren, Shalynn and Brandon; stepchildren Dale, Coleen, Heather, Bradley, Donald, Susan and their families, as well as sisters, Nina (Eric), Muriel (Owen), Clara (Murray) and Viola (Wally). Beside his parents, he was predeceased by brothers, Durell, Hartley and Melvin and sister, Lillian. Viewing will take place at Springfield Funeral Home, 2020 Springfield Road, Kelowna, BC on Friday, January 25, 2008 from 7-8 pm only.
