BARNES, Mrs. Harriett - Passed away on Saturday, February 2, 2008 at Fiddicks Nursing Home, in Petrolia, at the age of 87 years. Harriett was born in Edmonton Alberta and was a daughter of the late William and Myrtle (Masters) MacAlpine. Beloved wife of the late Harry Barnes (1999). Dear mother and mother-in-law of Connie and Chum Howlett of Port Lambton, Raymond and Peggy Barnes of Creighton Saskatchewan and Richard and Kay Barnes of Paxton Illinois. Sadly missed by 13 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. Kind sister of Mary Childs of Thamesville, Barb Evoy of Petrolia, Ethel and Lorne McLaren of Lambeth, Evan and Helen MacAlpine of Alberta, Irene Lepain of McGregor and Murray and Lynn MacAlpine of Oil Springs. Sister-in-law of Amy Mills of Petrolia, Roy “Bud“ and Pic Barnes of Toronto, Gilbert and Shirley Barnes of Watford and Sheila and Floyd McCormick. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her daughter Evelyne and her husband William, her brothers Mac, Glenn and Archie and a sister Myrtle. The late Harriett Barnes rested at the ERIC F. NICHOLLS FUNERAL HOME, 639 Elgin St., Wallaceburg. The Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, February 5, 2008 from the Port Lambton United Church at 2pm with visitation from 1-2 at the church. Interment in McDonald Cemetery, Port Lambton. Donations to Nursing Home Activity Department, Palliative Care, Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Kidney Foundation may be left at the funeral home. 10979320
