GAUTHIER, Laurent Louis “Larry“ - Passed away peacefully at home after a lengthy battle against cancer, surrounded by his loving family, 10 days before his 70th birthday. Son of the late Stan “Stanislaus“ and of the late Alice (née St-Père) Gauthier. Laurent “Larry“ Gauthier is survived and will be deeply missed by his wife Alma Gauthier (née Major) of Dowling and his six children, Jeanne-Marie Michlouski (Bruce) of Dowling, Ray Gauthier (Shelly) of Innerkip, Laurie Rossignol (Troy) of Chelmsford, George Gauthier (Danielle) of Sudbury, Fern Gauthier (Barb) of Kingston and Joey Gauthier of North Bay. Also survived by 9 grandchildren, Jody (Nathan), Stacy (Luc), Garry, Drew, Taylor, Jasmine, Maxine, Mikella and Jenna. Survived by his brothers and sisters, Normand Gauthier (Audette), Marcel Gauthier (Jeannine), Fern Pigeon (Jack) and Denis Gauthier (Diane) all of Azilda, Raymond Gauthier (Carmen) of Gloucester, Simone Finkle (Phillipe) and Doris Gauthier both of Sudbury, August Gauthier (Anne) of Gloucester, Thérèse Gauthier of London and Diane Pelletier (Aimé) of New Liskeard. Predeceased by his brother Camille, Laurent “Larry“ was a devoted Catholic and a long time member of the Onaping Falls Lions Club. He was past Zone Chair and past Region Chair for the Lions Club and also Lion of the year three times. He was a member of Caisse Populaire Vermillon, on the board committee for Place Cartier and a past member of Easter Seals. He worked very hard on the Christmas Hamper committee. He did a lot of volunteer work for the community. He will be dearly missed by all. Sincere thank you to all who were supportive during Larry's illness. A heartfelt thanks to Father Bob, his support has been great. Thank you to Dr. Nobel and nurse Karen and all the staff at Sudbury Regional Hospital, Laurentian Site and the Cancer Center for their kind and compassionate care. A BIG THANK YOU TO BAYSHORE HOME CARE and all the nurses and caregivers who helped us in this time of our great loss. A very special thanks to Rick and Chris, Simone and Phillippe and Normand and Audette for all the help. Thanks to Gudrun for listening to all my life stories above and beyond taking such good care of my husband. The family will receive friends at the CO-OPERATIVE FUNERAL HOME, 4691, RR 15, CHELMSFORD, Tuesday from 2-4 and 6:30 - 9:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Wednesday, January 30th, 2008 at 11a.m. in St-Etienne-Martyr Church, Dowling. Donations to St. Bartholomew Church Building Fund would be appreciated. 10972594
