NIMMOCK, Jean (Morton) - January 23, 1935 - January 28, 2008 - Peacefully at Extendicare Falconbridge with beloved husband George by her side. Beloved mother of Jane, Stephen (Micheline), Linda (Ed) and Sarah (Jamie). Predeceased by daughter Julie and son Patrick. Adoring grandmother of Julie, Kevin, Meagan and Michael. Survived by her stepmother Dorothy, sister Audrey and brother Jonathan in England. Predeceased by parents Stephen and Jane “Jenny“. Jean was happy in her role as grandmother and loved being with the kids. Jean will be greatly remembered for her generous nature and loving spirit. Jean was involved with the United Church Women “UCW“ where many knitting and craft projects were produced for craft sales as well as for friends and family. She came to Canada on January 9, 1959 with several friends to work as a nurse at the Memorial and General Hospitals. She met George in Sudbury and married him on September 10, 1960 in England. We would like to thank the many friends who supported our family throughout Jean's illness. We are extremely grateful to the caregivers of the 3rd floor at Extendicare Falconbrige for their compassionate care and love of Jean. We always knew she was in good hands. In memory, donations to the Alzheimer's Society or St. Peter's United Church Building Fund would be appreciated. Memorial service will be held Saturday, February 2, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. with reception to follow at St. Peter's United Church, York St. (Friends may gather at the church after 12:30 p.m. Saturday).
