JOLY, Viola Sarah (née Duhamel) - In loving memory of Viola Sarah Joly (née Duhamel) who passed away Monday, January 28th, 2008 at the Sudbury Regional Hospital - Laurentian Site after mounting a courageous battle. Born April 7, 1931 to the late Camille and the late Alma (née Paquette) Duhamel. Married Rolland Joly in 1951 who predeceased her in 1963. Loving mother of Helen and Michael and mother in law of Ani. Beloved grandmother of Christopher and Stephen Joly. Sister to Jacqueline Dumas predeceased (Maurice), Victor Duhamel (Ruth Ann) and Cecile St.Laurent (Pat). Sadly missed by cousins, nieces and nephews. Shortly after losing her husband, Vi supported her children by obtaining employment as a secretary at the Ministry of Education. At the time of her retirement, in 1992, she had worked her way up to the position of administrative assistant to the Director of Education. Vi lived her whole life selflessly devoted to raising her children and supporting them in every endeavor they pursued, empowering them to realize their dreams. She was so proud of the university education that she had helped them get. The family vacations she so carefully planned are forever stored in our treasure trove of fond memories. Vi was member of St. Stanislaus Parish where she served as parish council secretary for many years. She enjoyed hobbies such as solving crossword puzzles, knitting, crocheting, upholstering and refinishing old furniture.
