NORRIS, Rita - It is with deep sorrow that the family announces the death of Rita Norris (nee Raby) early in the morning of January 31, at the age of 91 years. Rita died peacefully in her sleep surrounded by that which she valued most; the love and support of those important to her. Her son, Fred was at her side and provided immeasurable comfort during her final hours. A lifetime proud resident of Sudbury, Rita was the loving wife of (Major E.J.) Ed Norris (predeceased 1978), the daughter of Leda (Canuel) and Arthur (Bunny) Raby and sister of Lucille (Gordon Bissett), Ralph and Edmund (all predeceased). As the undisputed matriarch of her family, she is survived by her daughter Judith Cleminson of Sudbury, and her sons Jim (Maureen Jack) of Niagara Falls and Fred of Sudbury. She was simply “Nana“ to Andrea Shea Hudson (Jim Hudson) of Lively, Chris Hill (Donna), Josanne Hill and her special “boys“, great-grandsons AJ & Brandon Hill all of Naples, Florida. Rita was the much- loved sister-in-law of Dr. Albert (Ab) and Jimmie Norris of Iowa City, Iowa. She is also survived by a vast number of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Fiercely independent, Rita leaves a legacy of strong family values and traditions, many many recipes that “freeze beautifully“ and memories of a woman with a sharp mind and a kind heart. She will be sadly missed by her family, her many friends and her bridge partners. Funeral Service in the R.J. Barnard Chapel, JACKSON AND BARNARD FUNERAL HOME, 233 Larch Street, Monday, February 4th, 2008 at 11:30 a.m. Cremation in the Park Lawn Crematorium. Donations to the Diabetic Association, M.S.
