SIMARD, Jeannine (née Trottier) - The family announces with sorrow, her death in Sudbury, Tuesday, February 12th, 2008 at the age of 84 years. Daughter of the late Joseph and of the late Aldéa (née Rodrigue) Trottier. Beloved wife of Laurent Simard of Sudbury. Loving mother of Richard L. (Julie Salach-Simard) of Ottawa, André (France) of Dowling, Louise Larocque (Denis) and Lise St-Jean (Gérard) both of Chelmsford and Clément (Jo-Anne) of Renfrew. Dear sister of Maurice (late Liliane) of Montreal, Jeanne-Mance Timchishen (Morris) and Mariette Burns (late Art) both of Sudbury and Martial of Chelmsford. Predeceased by her sisters and brothers Bertha Northwood (late Alfred), Gérard, Juliette Bizero (late Addo), Laurette Lacoste (late Leo), Amant, Rolande Trottier, Germaine Gorham (late Harold), Anita Quesnel (late Randolph) and Conrad. Sadly missed by her grandchildren, Yves (Michelle), Jacques (Joanne), Richard Jr.(Trina), Christine (Tom), Paul, Michel, Angèle (Michel), Joëlle (Daniel), Jason (Mistel) and Kevin (Jennifer). Lovingly remembered by her great-grandchildren Amanda, Jacob, Luka, Marko, Kaya, Caleb, Soleil, Océan, Étoile, Aimé-Michelle, Jayden, Dylan, Harley, Sébastien, Shanelle and Devon. Predeceased by her great-grandson Laurent. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. The focus of Jeannine's life was her loving family. She will also be remembered for having contributed a life of dedication to her community and country. From 1942 to 1945, she served in the Canadian Women's Army Corps and thereafter became a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, branch 553, where she was secretary for 30 years and president for 2 years. She was also a Colombiette member, council 6258, Vallée-Centre. The family will receive friends at the CO-OPERATIVE FUNERAL HOME, 4691, R. R. 15, CHELMSFORD, Friday from 2-5 and 7-9:30 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday, February 16th, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. in St- Joseph's Church, Chelmsford.
