Stewart Melvin Slaunwhite - August 06, 1922 - May 13, 2004 - 81 years, Terence Bay, passed away on Thursday, May 13, 2004, at home. Born in Terence Bay, he was a son of the late Allan and Myrtle (Lander) Slaunwhite. He was a fisherman for his entire life and loved to play bingo. Surviving are his children, Barbara (Earl) Corney, Harold (Beulah), Terence Bay; Donald (Lisa), Whites Lake; Joan (Murray) Hilchey, Dartmouth; Rodney (Louann), Terence Bay; Rickey (Audrey), Whites Lake; Marlene (Allan) McNamara, Terence Bay; Charlene (Richard), West Pennant; good friend and companion, Vera Murray; 16 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by sisters, Mabel (Jim) Longaphy, Fairview; Ruby, Hatchet Lake; brother, Allan, Halifax. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Winnifred (Hartlen); granddaughter, Kelsey; sisters, Eleanor, Marie, Myrtle, Annie, Jean and Gertrude in infancy. Mr. Slaunwhite is resting in Atlantic Funeral Home, 6552 Bayers Rd., where visitation will be held today from 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Funeral mass will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. in Star of the Sea Roman Catholic Church, Terence Bay, Father Gerald David officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Star of the Sea Parish, 1842 Prospect Rd., Terence Bay, NS B3T 1Y6.
