HOUTMEYERS, Cornelius Peter - It is with profound sadness that Peter's family announces his unexpected, but peaceful, passing on February 15, 2008, at Chatham Kent Health Alliance at the age of 74. Forever loved father of Paul of Chatham, Michelle of London, Kimberley (Tim) of Hamilton, and Wendy (Alex) of Burlington. Fondly remembered by Marg Osterbrook. Dedicated and loving grandfather of Samuel, Hannah, Patrick, Madeline, Tea and Luke. He will also be dearly missed by his brother Gus and sister Nelleke and their families in Holland. Peter was born in Holland and moved to Canada in 1957. He graduated from the University of Toronto and was a dedicated employee of Ford Motor Company. Upon retiring, Peter enjoyed numerous pursuits, including driving a school bus, tutoring and volunteering in the community. He most enjoyed his morning coffee with his friends. Dad, from the bottom of our hearts, we thank you for your unwavering commitment to us as a father and grandfather. Your body went through so much, but you always kept a smile on your face. Please know that we will love and miss you always. Friends will be received at BOWMAN FUNERAL HOME, 4 Victoria Avenue (519-352-2390) on Monday, February 18 from 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 pm. Funeral service will take place Tuesday, February 19 at 11:00 am at the funeral home. Interment to follow in Maple Leaf Cemetery.
