SLADE, Harold Leonard – ( Warrant Officer ,retired, the Canadian Navy, C.D. Medal with N.A.T.O.) peacefully, with his family by his side, at the Belleville General Hospital on Saturday February 2nd, 2008. Harold Slade, of Belleville, and formerly of Glace Bay and Falmouth , Nova Scotia, in his 72nd year. Son of the late William and Pearl (nee MacKay). Beloved husband for 54 years of Mary Catherine Slade (nee Beaver). Dear father of Pearl Trubridge of Belleville, Leonard Slade of Mulgrave Nova Scotia, Doug Slade (Eileen) of Stirling, and David Slade (Margaret) of Frederickton New Brunswick. Survived by his sisters Florence Bellows, Dolena McNeil (Jack), Lila Campbell (Frank), and by brothers Melvin Slade (Donna), Earl Slade (Sharon), Allister Slade (Edie), and Philip Slade. Harold was predeceased by several other sisters and brothers. Loved by his grandchildren Stacey, Rebecca, Sandy,Kaitlyn, Aaron, Kayla, Jean and Marc. Harold was with the Corp of Commissionaires in Halifax and Kingston, and operated a convenience store in Falmouth Nova Scotia for ten years.
