WHITHAM, Gordon Silverthorne - Died peacefully at the Brantford General Hospital on Sunday February 10th, 2008 in his 94th year. Predeceased in May 2006 by his beloved wife Mae (Hawkins); loving father of Art and his wife Marilyn of Cambridge, the late Ruth Ann Howard (1986) and her husband Jim, Joyce Smith and her husband Don; cherished grandpa of 8 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren; dear brother-in- law of Eldon Hawkins and his late wife Jean. Gord will also be sadly missed by his many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. The family will receive friends at the “THORPE BROTHERS' FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL”, 96 West Street on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday February 13th, 2008 in the funeral home chapel at 2:30 p.m. with interment to follow at Mount Hope Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations in memory of Gord may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or to Sydenham United Church.
