LaPLANTE, Paul of Cornwall W.W. II Veteran Alouette Squadron 425 LaPLANTE - Paul - Peacefully at the Hawkesbury General Hospital on Sunday, December 23, 2007 at the age of 91. Born on September 1, 1916 in St. Boniface, Manitoba. Son of the late Lucius LaPlante and Meriza Brais. Beloved husband of Rita Lemire for the past 60 years. Cherished father of Pierre LaPlante (Louise) of Grenville, QC, Rachelle (Paul Brisebois) of Cornwall and the late Yvon (Elizabeth) of Vaudreuil-sur-le-Lac. Dear grandfather of Christian LaPlante (Brigitte), Nathalie LaPlante (Jean-François), Daniel Brisebois (Susann), Michel Brisebois, Genevieve, Marie-Anne, Katherine, Emilie LaPlante and great-grandfather of Alexandre and Dominic LaPlante. Will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. He is survived by his brother, Edward (Lorraine) and predeceased by his sisters, Lucienne Revill (Ronald), Irene, Aline, Helen Randall (Alton), Pauline Rowe (Ted) and brothers, Ferdinand (Françoise) and Hector (Vera). Mr. LaPlante was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 297, Knights of Columbus and R.C.A.F. Wing 424. At the family's request, there will be no visitation. The Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, January 4, 2008 in St. Felix de Valois Church at 11 a.m. The family will be in attendance prior to the Mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment of ashes in Notre Dame Cemetery in the spring. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Alzheimer's Society or to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
