Janet Carolyn PAUL

Janet Carolyn Marshall (née Paul) Janet, wife of Gordon and mom to Barbara (Randy), Nancy (Robert) and Stephen (Marie-Josee) and sister to Jim (Suzanne) passed away peacefully at the Grace General Hospital on Sunday, May 16, 2004 with family at her side. She was a Home Economics graduate with a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Manitoba. Upon graduation she worked in the Winnipeg food sciences sector until she moved to Minneapolis where she worked for North West Orient Airlines as a Stewardess. Janet returned to Winnipeg to marry Gordon and lived in the River Heights area where they began their family. Soon after they moved to Birchwood Heights where she made life long friends with many neighbours. She was a dedicated and loving wife and mother, and her grandchildren Jessica, Sean, Brodie, Christopher and Makena brought her an abundance of happiness and joy to her life. She was the backbone of our family. Janet returned to work in the seventies and found her niche selling ladies designer clothing for many years. She also willingly gave her time to many worthwhile causes and organizations including the Junior League, the Heart and Stroke Foundation, the Sturgeon Creek United Church and Juvenile Diabetes. She was a true competitor at the Taylor Tennis Club and cherished the friendships made on and off the courts. She thrived in the company of many long time friends and considered her time with them very precious. A memorial service will be held in Sturgeon Creek United Church, 207 Thompson Drive at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 20. Flowers are gratefully declined.
