WARD, Robert David Sr. - Passed away peacefully at the Port Colborne General Hospital on January 31, 2008 at the age of 74. He was born in Comber, Ontario and lived in this area most of his life. Predeceased by his loving wife Donna (2000), son-in-law Robert Wilcox (2007), his parents Charles and Anna Ward and 2 sisters Jane and Barbara. Survived by his children Robert Ward Jr. (Sharon), Brenda Wilcox, Wendy Ward, George Ward (Charlene) and Douglas Ward all of Port Colborne. Loving grandfather of Dawn Ward, Rob Ward, Bobby Wilcox, George Ward Jr. and Geoff Ward. Also survived by his common-law wife of 8 years, Irene Bottenfield and her family. Bob worked as a truck driver, starting at Harrison Motorways, then for many years at Tallman Transport in Welland. He worked also at General Motors, Glendale Ave. St. Catharines from where he retired. Bob enjoyed playing Santa for many years for various organizations and also for private parties. He also had a great love of camping, fishing and hunting. Robert's family will receive friends at the ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME, 179 Clarence Street, Port Colborne, on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until service time. The Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, February 5, 2008 in the Armstrong Chapel at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Jack Neil officiating. Interment to follow at Oakwood Cemetery. If so desired, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Canadian Diabetes Association, Port Colborne/Wainfleet Community Living or the Port Colborne General Hospital Foundation.
