Sam Smith December 23, 1977 - February 05, 2004 Suddenly, Thursday February 5, 2004 at his residence Samuel Jason Smith aged 26 years of Selkirk. Sammy leaves to mourn his mother Shelley, stepfather Cail Black, beloved brother Rob and his girlfriend Colleen Bates, his little buddy “The Duke”, an extensive family, and too many friends to name. Sam was predeceased by his father Ron in 1993. Sam was born in Selkirk, December 23, 1977 and raised in the north-end. At the time of his passing he was employed at Black Cat Blades in Selkirk. “Sammy G or GQ” as he was known to his friends was always proud of being a steelworker. Sam was known far and wide as a great guy who loved to talk, party and laugh. Sam was a real crowd gatherer, many a good time was had at his place. His pride and joy was his low-rider. “G” had a strong sense of friendship, loyalty and family. Everyone was always welcome to come and stay, what ever he could do to help a buddy in need, he was there. He was proud to have been a north-ender and formed many lifelong friendships to the end. His close friends were treated like brothers, he was respected and loved by all who know him. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, February 11, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Selkirk, Manitoba with viewing one hour prior to.
