Kenneth Burr Peacefully on Tuesday, March 2, 2004, Ken passed away at the Deer Lodge Centre at the age of 74. His memory will be forever cherished by his loving wife of 52 years Mavis; daughter Beverley (Tom) Leach and their children Megan and Jennifer; son Murray (Susan) and their children Jessica and Kari; one brother Norman (Edna); brother-in-law Dennis (Shirley) McQuade; and sister-in-law Dorothy (Ed) Curtis. Ken was employed with Northwest Airlines as a passenger agent for 38 years until his retirement in 1991. Together with his wife Mavis, they owned and operated the “Art Craft Shop” in Clear Lake, MB for 26 years. Ken was past Master of Meridian Lodge #140. He became a charter member, the first presiding Master and past Master of Seven Stars Lodge #180. In addition to enjoying a long membership with Khartoum Temple, Ken was past president of the Motor Patrol and a member of Cycle Escort. Ken had a passionate interest in trains and thoroughly enjoyed his time spent as a porter on the Prairie Dog. The family would like to thank the staff of Deer Lodge Centre and the nursing staff of 2W, as well as Dr. Murray for their kindness, compassion and high level of care provided to Ken. “We love you Papa” In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cerebral Palsy Association of MB Inc, 1060 Ellice Ave, Winnipeg, MB R3G 0C9 or Parkinson Society of MB, 204-825 Sherbrook St, Winnipeg, MB R3A 1M5. Memorial service will be held on Tuesday, March 9, 2004 at 3:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. Arrangements entrusted to: CHAPEL LAWN FUNERAL HOME CEMETERY AND CREMATORIUM 885-9715.
