Miss Sharon Jean MacGowan April 30, 1956 - March 15, 2004 MacGowan- Sharon Jean MacGowan of Saskatoon passed away peacefully at home with her family on Monday, March 15th, 2004. She was born in Taber, Alberta near the family home of Vauxhall on April 30th, 1956. Sharon was predeceased by her father Gordon, infant brother Robbie and her grandparents; Annie and Alfred MacGowan, Jean and Warren Porter. She is survived by her mother Isabel, siblings; Cindy (Mark) of Sherwood Park, Mary-Lynne of Vancouver, Judy Bonn of Saskatoon, Jim (Shirley) and their children Dale, Adrienne and Jamie of Pike Lake, David and his children Shealagh, Conlan and Keely of Saskatoon, Hugh (Sharon) and their children Joshua, Michelle and Jonathan of Saskatoon, Susan (Glen) Mogenson and their children Paige, Grace and Hope of Saskatoon, Kris (Ken) Gunn and their daughter Jessica, Sharon’s god daughter of Saskatoon and Tanys of Fort McMurray, her aunts and uncles; Ethel(Jack) McDonald of Calgary, Ileen Ferguson of Edmonton, Cathy (Ian) Auld of Calgary and Carole Graham of Calgary. Sharon worked for the Bank of Montreal for 27 years in Swift Current, Maple Creek, Regina and Saskatoon. She continued in her father’s footsteps donating blood 61 times until she was diagnosed with cancer. Lieutenant Governor Weibe recognized Sharon for her dedication to the blood donor program. Sharon enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, especially with her nieces and nephews related and chosen. A celebration of Sharon’s life will be held at St. Martin’s United Church (2617 Clarence Avenue) on Saturday, March 20th, 2004 at 1:30 p.m. Sharon requested that donations may be made to the Radiation Unit at the Saskatoon Cancer Centre in lieu of flowers. The family wishes to express their appreciation to Dr. Parker, Dr. Vachhrajani, the members of the radiation unit, the home care nurses and staff at the Bank of Montreal. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to David J. Schurr of HILLCREST FUNERAL HOME (477-4400).
