SURETTE, Delbert Dennis SURETTE, Delbert Dennis - 88, Shelburne, formerly of Wedgeport, passed away in Roseway Hospital, Sandy Point, Shelburne Co., on February 8, 2008. Born in Wedgeport, he was a son of the late John Daniel and Arthenise (Muise) Surette. Delbert was a veteran of the Second World War, having served in England with the Medical Corps in No. 9 General Hospital. He was a cook at Roseway Hospital for 34 years and a proud member of Loyalist Branch No. 63, Royal Canadian Legion, Shelburne. He received his 60 year pin on November 11, 2007. He is survived by sons, Joe, Shelburne; Ken (Jane), Orillia, Ont.; daughter, Betty Branscombe, Sandy Point; grandchildren, Stephen (Simone), Michael (Janet), Ontario; Danny (Christine), Angela, Sandy Point; great-grandchildren, Adam, Aaron, Aiden, Amanda Surette, Nicholas and Emily Branscombe, and brother, Willie, Ontario. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Annie Boudreau; brothers, John Bernard, Anthony, James, Lorene, George and Lawrence; sisters, Mamie, Adelaide, Susan (Sister Joseph Mary), and Mary May. Visitation will be today from 7-9 p.m. in H.M. Huskilson's Funeral Home, Shelburne and Sunday from 7-9 p.m. in H.M. Huskilson's Funeral Home, Wedgeport. A funeral mass will take place Monday at 2 p.m. in St. Michael's Roman Catholic Church, Wedgeport with Father Wieslaw Papuga officiating, assisted by Msgr. Gerald LeBlanc. Interment in St. Michael's Parish Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Roseway Hospital Foundation, Heritage Hall Adult Workshops, Special Olympics, Shelburne, or St. Thomas Catholic Church Building Fund, Shelburne.
