FOWLER, Anne Julie 2008-02-08 Mrs. Anne Julie Fowler, 89 years, of Red Rock, Ontario passed away Thursday, February 7, 2008, with her family by her side, in the Nipigon District Memorial Hospital, Nipigon, Ontario. Julie was born and raised in Wedgewood, Nova Scotia. She and Lawrence and three of their children moved to Red Rock in 1950. Julie enjoyed knitting and quilting. She was a life member of St. Hilary‘s Catholic Women‘s League. Julie believed in keeping life simple and entertaining, with a strong emphasis on family and friends. Her door was always open for friends to join her for a cup of tea. Predeceased by her parents – Pierre and Francoise LeBlanc, by her daughter Carol Almgren in October of 2006 and by her sisters – Mary Boudreau and Irma LeBlanc; she is survived by her husband of 65 years Lawrence Fowler of Red Rock, by five children – Dianne (& Wayne) Hunt of Brockville, Ontario, Phillip (& Cheryl) Fowler of Castlegar, British Columbia, Judith (& Sam) Sobush of Red Rock, Margaret (& Francis) Traintinger of Nipigon and Matthew (& Shelley) Fowler of Thunder Bay, Ontario, by her son-in-law Dennis Almgren Sr. of Red Rock, by eleven grandchildren – Dennis Almgren Jr. of Red Rock and Mark Almgren of Nipigon, Glen (& Kathy) Hunt of Brockville, Ontario and Cheryl (& Dennis) Van Luit of Prescott, Ontario, Tamara Matt of Victoria, British Columbia, Marlo (& Kevin) Dahl of Thunder Bay, Shawn (& Brigitte) Sobush of Sudbury, Ontario and Ashley Sobush of Thunder Bay, Courtney (& Chuck) Currie of Nipigon, and Ryan Traintinger (& fiancée Sarah Lange) of Marathon, Ontario and Bailey Fowler of Thunder Bay, by eleven great grandchildren – Brittany, Brooklyn and Wade Almgren, Austin and Connor Almgren, Rachel Hunt, Connor and Justin Van Luit, Tiana Matt, Pierson and Mackinly Sobush, by sister Martha Boudreau and brother Augustine LeBlanc both of Yarmouth, Nova Scotia. Numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive. Resting at St. Hilary‘s Catholic Church in Red Rock where friends may call after 5:30 P.M. on Sunday February 10, 2008. Prayers will be offered at 7 P.M. Funeral services for Julie Fowler, in the care of Elliott Funeral Home Ltd., Nipigon will be held on Monday, February 11, 2008 at 11 A.M. at St. Hilary‘s Church in Red Rock with Father R. Morriseau officiating. Interment will be in Cliffside Cemetery, Nipigon. Friends so wishing may make donations to the Arthritis Society or to the charity of their choice.
