MacKENZIE, Elaine Beverley MacKENZIE, Elaine Beverley - 62, Middle Musquodoboit, passed away March 27, 2008, in the Halifax Infirmary, QEII, after a long brave battle with kidney and heart failure. Born in Dartmouth, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth and Irene (Walters) James. She was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother, and she took great pride in her home. She was an avid gardener and reader. She also loved sewing, crafts and tole painting. She was a former member of the Upper Stewiacke Garden Club, Ladies Auxiliary of Meagher's Grant Fire Hall, and a volunteer at many community events. She loved nature and caring for animals. Elaine is survived by her husband, Ken; daughters, Angela (Billy) Shannon, Anita (John) Pickup, Trina (Tim) Sampson; brother, Ken (Jeanne); grandchildren, Laura, Christian, Holly, Danielle, and Michaela. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Elaine was predeceased by her brother, Jackie, and aunt, Caroline Mills. Visitation will be held Monday, March 31, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in Ettinger Funeral Home in Shubenacadie, where the funeral service will be held Tuesday, April 1, at 1 p.m. Burial in Meagher's Grant Cemetery.
