McKEAN, Thomas McKEAN, Thomas - Dartmouth, passed away Friday, March 28, 2008, in Dartmouth General Hospital, Dartmouth. Born in Halifax, he was a son of the late Thomas and Margaret (Edwards) McKean. Thomas worked as a foreman at the Halifax Shipyards. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Halifax, and a member of the Halifax Flying Club and an avid pilot. He loved to tinker with anything mechanical and for the last number of years his number one interest was his cars. He is survived by his wife, Bernice; son-in-law, James (Marilyn) Mason, Fall River; stepsons, George (Kathy) Burgess, Fall River; Ronnie Burgess, Winnipeg; stepdaughter, Donna (James) Doyle, Mount Uniacke; brother, George (Mildred), Halifax; grandchildren, James (Karen) Mason, Fall River; Lori (Ivano) Balzen; great-grandchildren, Diana and Olivia Mason, Gracie Balzen; stepgrandchildren, Robyn Burgess, John Doyle, Joe Doyle, Natasha Burgess, and Jeanette. He was predeceased by his first wife, Eva; daughter, Diane Mason; brother, Arthur, and sister, Helen. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, 11213 Highway 3, Lunenburg, where the memorial service to celebrate Thomas' life will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m., Rev. Robert Zinck officiating.
