DE VERA, Virgilio 70 years, passed away suddenly at his home in Windsor with his wife by his side on August 5, 2004. Beloved husband of 40 years to Noemi (nee Gonzales). Loving father of Janette and husband Steven Batten of Gonzales). Loving father of Janette and husband Steven Batten of London, ON and Virgil de Vera and friends Giuseppina Di Blasi of Montreal. Dear Lolo to Mei Lin and Sun Li Batten. Predeceased by parents Norberto and Eugenia de Vera. Survived by brother Salvador de Vera and wife Esperanza of Chicago and sister Gloria de Vera of the Philippines and predeceased by sister Lilia and husband Abelardo Dizon and brothers Julian, Johnny and Luis de Vera. Brother-in-law to Nita and Zenny both of the Philippines. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Virgilio retired from TKA Fabco and was a Senior Member of American Society of Quality and also a Certified Quality and Reliability Engineer. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 7-9 p.m. and Sunday from 2-5 p.m. & 7-9 p.m. Parish prayers Sunday at 7:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Monday, August 9, 2004 at 9:15 a.m. from the Marcotte Funeral Home & Chapel, 12105 Tecumseh Road, Tecumseh (735-2830) to Church of the Atonement for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Fr. Clare Coleman will be the celebrant. Interment at Heavenly Rest Cemetery. In kindness memorial donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation Windsor-Essex Chapter or to the Hotel Dieu-Grace Hospital Dialysis Unit would be appreciated by the family. A tree will be planted in memory of Virgilio de Vera in the Marcotte Heritage Forest. A dedication service will be held on September 26, 2004. All are welcome.
