Winnifred BERES

POLLOCK, Virginia 60 years, passed away at W.R.H.C. Metropolitan Campus surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with cancer. Cherished wife and best friend of Murray for the past thirty years. Loving, devoted mother of Shannon (and Kenny), Erin (and Nick). Dear daughter of Helen Beres and sister of Ted Beres of Detroit, Michigan. Virginia was an employee of Zehrs (St. Clair Beach) for the passed 18 years, retiring in 2004. Also a past president of the St. Simon & St. Jude Church C.W.L. Her love for her family, especially her daughters, was astounding and will be forever remembered. Virginia was cared for at home by Murray, her miracle, throughout her fight with cancer. Virginia received tremendous care and support from many special friends and our community. Special thanks to the caregivers and friends from the Hospice, Windsor Regional Cancer Clinic and Nurses at St. Elizabeth Healthcare. Family and friends will be received at Melady Funeral Home, 572 Notre Dame, Belle River, 728-1500, on Sunday evening 7 to 9, Monday, 2 to 5 and 7 to 9, Parish prayers 8:00 p.m. Funeral Tuesday, August 17, 2004 leaving the funeral home at 10 a.m. to St. Simon & St. Jude Church for Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Interment St. Simon & St. Jude Cemetery, Belle River. Donations may be made to Windsor Regional Cancer Centre or Hospice of Windsor, Inc. A tree will be planted in memory of Virginia Pollock in the Melady Heritage Forest.
