STAMER, Anna (nee Humeniuk) - It is with sadness that the family announces the passing of their mother and grandmother, Anna Stamer (1914-2008) on Saturday April 5th, 2008. Anna was predeceased by her husband Joe (1982). She will be greatly missed by her son, Joseph Gary and his wife Lynda and by her grandchildren, Neal and Jaimee and Beth and Sean. She will also be missed by her brother Peter Humeniuk, his children David and Diane and their families. Anna was predeceased by her sisters Olga and Mary and her brother John. Anna has been a resident of Leisureworld Caregiving Centre for the past four years where she enjoyed their excellent care and companionship, especially Bingo nights. Anna was born in Toronto when by her words, “it was just a hick town”. She was an accomplished violinist and played with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra. During the War years, she moved to Brantford where she married and continued her musical career as a teacher of the violin and mandolin. She was a member of the Brantford Symphony Orchestra for many years. The family will receive friends at the “THORPE BROTHERS' FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL”, 96 West Street on Monday (today) from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel of the funeral home on Tuesday April 8th, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. Interment to follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery.
