EAST, Raymond Edgar 76 years, peacefully, on August 20, 2004 at his home in Tecumseh with his loving family by his side. Beloved husband and best friend of Irene (nee Chincourt). Loving father of Brian Jackson East and wife Tracy, of Powassan; Grant Christopher East and wife Maryanne, of Emeryville; Jennifer Ellen Moore and husband Ronald, of LaSalle; Thomas Edgar East and wife Sabrina, of Windsor. Dear son of the late Thomas Edgar East and Effie Marie (nee Jackson). Dear grandpa of Mitchel Raymond East; Sera and Victoria Moore; Tavis and Holly East. Dear brother of the late Roy Jackson and wife Joyce East. Dear brother-in-law of Ellen Maybee, of Tecumseh. Loving uncle of Kurt Maybee and wife Samantha; Marilyn Mayville and husband James; JoAnne Williams and husband Gary. Ray retired from Bell Canada after 42 years of service; member of Tecumseh United Church; founding member of Southport Sailing Club (Windsor Sailing Club); originator of the Harvest Moon Race (SPSC); and was the 1954 Canadian Eastern Champion in Motorcycle Racing. Visiting Monday, August 23rd from 2:00 to 5:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at The Marcotte Funeral Home and Chapel, 12105 Tecumseh Rd., Tecumseh (735-2830). Visiting continues on Tuesday, August 24, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. at the Tecumseh United Church, 333 Lacasse Blvd., Tecumseh, until the time of the Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. Rev. George McPhee and Rev. Christian Kraatz officiating. Interment at Victoria Memorial Gardens. As your expression of sympathy, a donation to the Windsor Regional Cancer Centre, 2220 Kildare Rd., Windsor N8W 2X3 or to the Voice for the Hearing Impaired, 3157 Glenwood Ave., Windsor N9E 2X9 would be appreciated. A tree will be planted in memory of Raymond East in the Marcotte Heritage Forest. A dedication service will be held on September 26, 2004. All are welcome.
